Penneys PS..Blend & Cleanse Makeup Sponge Cleaner

Primark PS Blend and Cleanse Makeup Sponge Cleaner

I don't use beauty blender sponges very often but when I saw this in Penneys a few months ago, I immediately thought that this would be perfect for cleaning makeup brushes so a couple of them went straight into my basket. I know I keep mentioning it but Penneys/Primark have really upped their beauty game in the last year or so and they are constantly bringing out new makeup and new beauty tools that are perfect for your own makeup collection or for makeup artists starting out.

So what is this little pot? It is a small tub with a solid round soap that you can use to clean either your beauty blenders or makeup brushes, priced at €2.50 which is a lot less than many other solid brush cleaners on the market. It is a pretty small tub with 28g of soap but still great value.

How do you use it?

It works in the same way as other solid makeup brush cleaners - such as the Makeup Revolution one which is normally my go-to and that you can read more about here. You simply wet the brush or sponge, wet the soap and then swirl said brush or sponge into the soap and create a lather.

You can then swirl the brush or sponge in your hand and then rinse the soap and the makeup residue away. I however use one of those little brush eggs (also Penneys!) to really give the brushes a good scrub then rinse under warm running water. Et voila.

The cleaner gives a good lather and a does just as good a job as any other solid brush cleaner that I've used and it's not overly scented either. It is also gentle on the brush bristles and it hasn't caused any shedding etc. For the price, and the rate that as a makeup artist you have brushes and tools to wash, I really can't complain.

If you are looking for an affordable, mess free solution to clean your brushes, then this is absolutely worth a try. I hope Primark don't discontinue this any time soon as it's now become a makeup kit essential for me!

Bye for now,

  1. This sounds really cool and it's so affordable, too! I haven't heard of this brand before but I will keep an eye out for it or something like it x
