Rimmel Kate Moss Sculpting Palette Review

Rimmel Kate Moss Sculpting Palette

It's impossible to pass by those '3 for 2' offers in Boots. A while ago, I came across a 3 for 2 offer on Rimmel makeup so I decided it was time to try this Rimmel Kate Moss Sculpting Palette. For a long time, my go to contour, blush and highlight palette was the Sleek Face Form one. However, I loved it so much that I used up all of the highlighter before the blusher and bronzer were finished! For on the go touch ups and travelling, I needed to pick up another palette of the same type that was portable and affordable yet equally good!

Enter the Kate Moss Sculpting Palette in the Shade 002 Coral Glow.

Rimmel Kate Moss Sculpting Palette

This is Rimmel's first sculpting palette designed by Kate Moss. It contains 3 shades of powder to highlight, blush and contour in a handy-sized compact. The palette is quite compact in size - it's even smaller than an iPhone 4 and small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. The black and clear plastic packaging is simple and finished with rose gold details. Each pan contains 6g approximately of product (the total net weight is 18.5g and I suspect that the middle contour shade is the one that contains slightly more). There are three shades available in these palettes - 001, 002 and 003, with the higher the number meaning the darker the shades.

Highlight Shade.

The highlight shade is a pale champagne with gold undertones. It's beautifully shimmery without being glittery or chalky. It gives a natural glow to my pale skin without being too intense for a daytime look. If however you wanted to build it up for a more full-on glow you can do that too! This is probably my favourite shade in this palette and I love the glow it brings to the skin. I would go so far as to say that I would buy this palette for the highlighter alone!

Contour Shade.

The contour shade to me is more of a bronzer than an actual cool-toned sculpting shade.Generally speaking, cooler, almost grey-brown tones work better to shape the face for pale ladies. However, I can make this work as a bronzer to give more of a glow and warmth to the face instead, and darker skin tones will probably find this effective as a contour powder. It has a slight sheen to it too which is more suited to a bronzer than a contour powder usually.

This pretty corally-pink blusher is a great shade for a lot of skin tones. It gives a lovely natural flush to the skin. It isn't super pigmented but it can be built up on the skin for more than a natural daytime makeup look. This also isn't completely matte but gives a slight sheen to the skin too.

So what did I think of it?

I'm very impressed with this palette for the price. It contains everything you need to add glow and warmth to your face and is small enough to fit in your everyday makeup bag or to take with you when travelling. All 3 shades are really effective as eyeshadows too. Quite often when I'm in a hurry, I use the contour shade in the crease of the eye, a little of the blush on the lid and then the highlighter on the inner corners of the eye to brighten as well as under the brow bone. This is a lifesaver when you're like me and rushing to get a toddler out the door in the mornings!

You can find this palette for €8.99 in selected pharmacies and in Boots stores or on the Boots website here where they currently have another 3 for 2 offer on Rimmel products!*
