As the name suggests, they are liquid matte lipsticks which are said to be long lasting and "kiss proof". They claim to be ultra long-lasting with no transfer film and to contain Vitamin E to prevent dryness. I only saw these two shades in my local Penneys but from research I've done there seem to be about 5 or 6 shades in total if you are lucky enough to find them. They are priced at €4.00 each.
The lipsticks come in quite a standard clear and black tube, like a lot of liquid lipsticks nowadays, and contain 4.5ml product which is quite a decent amount for the price. One of the first things I noticed about them was the smell. You know when you're making vanilla sponge or cupcakes and you've mixed up the batter and you're about to put it in the oven? That's literally how they smell. Or like vanilla buttercream icing. It's just as well there's no cake in this house right now or I'd be all over it!
Another thing I noticed was the applicator - it's flat on both sides and not a doe-foot or rounded one like some other lip products. I wasn't sure whether this would make any difference to the application or not but in fact it doesn't. It still allows you to put on a thin enough layer and once you have a lip liner on, it fills in the lips in the same way.
The colours I picked up will be no surprise - a very cool nude called Shadow (on the left in the picture above) and a mauvey pink called Pillow Talk - the shade on the right. This is not to be confused with the iconic lipstick from Charlotte Tilbury - it's nothing like that classic nude and I don't think it was intended to be.

For reference, the liner I've found that matches the Pillow Talk shade is Rimmel's Exaggerate Lip Liner in Eastend Snob. I don't have a lip liner yet that is quite cool enough to match Shadow but I've been using a light touch of the liner from my Kylie lip kit in Maliboo and it's ok but not perfect.
If you see these in your local store, I would definitely recommend trying them out. As with all matte liquid lipsticks, do make sure your lips are well moisturised first and use a lip liner to outline your lips too. If you've tried these or have any other liquid lipstick favourites - do let us know! I really like the shades you chose. It seems like the more affordable brands are really making better lip products these days xx
ReplyDeleteThank you xx They do try certainly. Although I've heard very mixed reviews on their lip kits..
DeleteThese sound amazing and I'm a sucker for a liquid lipstick. Really hope I see these in my store now so I can pick them up. X

If you do happen to pick one up, let me know what you thought of it! x
DeleteThey are very pretty colours. I don't think we can get this brand in Australia so won't be something I will try. But great review and your pictures are gorgeous
