Makeup Revolution Highlight Palette.
It would not be one of my blog posts if there wasn't a mention of Makeup Revolution in it somewhere so this won't come as much of a surprise to many of you! This stunning palette contains three of their best selling Vivid Baked Highlighters in one palette - Golden Lights, Peach Lights and Pink Lights. My favourite shade is the peach one in the middle, but all shades are equally fabulous and you can either use them sparingly for a lighter glow or go full-on and layer them up for a definite "seen from space" effect. At under €12 for the palette it's an absolute bargain. These can also be bought as separate baked highlighters too. Both options are available from www.tambeauty.com.
Catrice High Glow Mineral Highlighting Powder, shade 010 Light Infusion.
This is a baked highlighting powder infused with minerals and fine light reflecting particles which again can be used subtly or built up for a more intense glow. This has been in my collection for ages and still it looks like I've barely made a dent in it as you get so much product in it - 8g of powder which is actually quite a lot even though it doesn't sound it. It's a really pretty light pearl shade - or it is on my pale skin at least, and gives a lovely shimmer without being chalky or too chunky. At less than €6, it's definitely worth checking out. You can find Catrice at Penneys/Primark stores and selected pharmacies nationwide.
Collection Speedy Highlighter, shade 01 Pearl Sheen.
This highlighter is a very similar colour to the Catrice one however this is a cream as opposed to powder formula. It's a cream highlighter crayon which is super easy to apply - just a quick swipe on the cheekbones - and can also be built up for a more intense glow. If you are normally a powder highlighter kind of girl, don't dismiss this one straight away. I tend to veer towards powder formulas more often as sometimes the cream formulas can be a bit oily or greasy however this one doesn't feel greasy at all and once you blend it in it feels very light on the skin. This one is available from Boots for €5.49.
MUA Luxe Strobe & Glow Highlight Kit.
Makeup Revolution Radiant Lights in Exhale.
I know, this keeps cropping up on the blog but if you are in need of any more convincing that you need this in your life, then I'll tell you about it again. This baked powder, available in three shades - Breathe, Exhale and Glow will give you the subtle all over glow of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders without the price tag, or you can use it built up to create a more intense highlight on the cheekbones, cupids bow etc. Radiant Light is literally the perfect name for this- velvety on the skin with a gorgeous fine shimmer. Makeup Revolution is now available in selected Irish pharmacies, from Matte To Metallic or from www.tambeauty.com and www.superdrug.com and this powder will set you back around €7.00 individually or there is a Radiant Lights palette available too with all three shades together for less than €12.
So, those are my top 5 affordable highlighters - are any of these your favourites?
Or if you have any other recommendations do let us know - sure don't we all love that glow! :)
