Botanics All Bright Radiance Concentrate Serum Review

Boots Botanics All Bright Serum

For Beauty Thursday I'm sharing my thoughts on a serum I've been trying out for a few weeks. If you’ve been following the blog for a while, you might have guessed that I’m partial to a bargain. I have a few “luxury” skincare items in my bathroom or on my wish list, but a lot of my skincare tends to be from drugstore ranges too.

Boots are great for the half price or 3 for 2 offers, and a couple of months back, their Botanics range was half price so I picked up this serum and the micellar water to try out. (The micellar water was a bit of a let-down for me but I’ll come back to that at a later stage!)

This serum is part of the Botanics All Bright range which claims to give a visible radiant glow and contains natural AHAs from the hibiscus flower to act as mild exfoliators and leave the skin smoother and brighter. The Botanics range was developed by Boots with plant science experts at the Royal Botanical Gardens and the range promises to bring beautiful, plant-powered skincare that’s proven to work. These days if anything claims that it will make me more radiant then I’m all over it!

The product comes in a small glass bottle with a handy dropper on the top to dispense the product. The packaging is simple and small enough not to take up too much space on your dressing table or bathroom shelf.

The serum itself is clear and actually quite watery, not what I’m used to in terms of serums. It has a very light fragrance which for me is barely noticeable and absorbs into the skin almost instantly. I only use two drops at a time which is plenty to cover the entire face.

I have been using this after cleansing and toning and before moisturiser – or facial oil and moisturiser at nighttime – and it absorbs into the skin so quickly. I’m always short of time and need my skincare to be applied and absorbed quickly on a hectic morning so this is a big bonus for me. I’ve been using it for a number of weeks as I wanted to give it a proper trial before telling you about it. My skin does feel noticeably smoother even before moisturising and it also feels clearer and a little brighter. It’s hard to quantify the results exactly but my skin certainly feels smoother and looks less “tired” – which let’s face it, a Mammy needs! In case you are wondering, I have combination skin with an oilier t-zone and tendency for dryness elsewhere.

Would I recommend this? Absolutely. If you are looking to give your skin a bit of a boost but don’t want to use something like a strobe cream then this is great. It’s quick and easy to use, gives the skin a moisture boost which is badly needed and it’s affordable too. You do however need to make sure that your moisturiser contains SPF as AHAs can increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun. Although really we should all be using moisturisers with SPF anyway so this wouldn’t be an issue for most. Being a part of the beauty blogger community, I have a wish list of products to buy and try out as long as my arm, it’s not often that I like something enough to consider repurchasing but I would absolutely buy this again.

The full price of this is €7.99 and it’s available in Boots stores and online at

Have you tried this serum yet and if so what did you think? Or what is your favourite serum to use?
