GlossyboxUK May 2016 Review

It's that time of the month again when the subscription boxes are dispatched to all the beauty fanatics.
This month my Glossybox arrived super early - on the same day as I got the email that it was on the way! Usually being in Ireland it takes about another 4-5 working days on top of the UK delivery time so I don't know how this happened but I shan't complain :)

The theme this month is "Glossy Getaways" - and the boxes are designed with favourite city break destinations in mind - London, Paris, New York and Berlin. I received the Paris one and it's really prItetty - too pretty to let a toddler get his hands on so I think I'll bring this to the office to store some bits and bobs from my desk in instead...

So what was in my box then?

The first thing that I saw was the extra little treat - the bag of Propercorn - and this was a nice little touch. And not because I love popcorn (which I do!) but because giving the customer a little extra something that they weren't expecting is no harm for a company to do. It's the little things eh!

The first actual product that caught my eye was the Revlon Volume & Length Magnified Mascara. Subscribers got a choice this month of five new Revlon mascaras - I never got around to making my selection so it was pot luck for me but I like the sound of this one. It has a nice big, soft brush which I like so I will definitely give this a go. (After the Rimmel one I just bought which you can read about here)

Next up was another product which I go through like nobody's business - hand cream - and specifically, the Crabtree & Evelyn Summer Hill Hand Therapy.

"Pretty" is the only way to describe the scent of this. It smells delicatelly floral and like a traditional English soap and I'm in love with it already. It's non greasy and leaves the hands lovely and soft. It's the perfect size for a handbag so that's where it's going straight away!

Next up is the Absolute New York Velvet Lippie.

This is a matte lip cream and I received the bright coral shade which is called "Rumba". It is way too bright for me so unfortunately I will have to give this to someone else to try out but I do like the idea of the matte lip cream itself. Unlucky for me and lucky for a friend!

The fourth item was the Loceryl Nail Gel.

I've never heard of this brand before. This is a gel that is meant to improve the condition of your nails and help with discolouration. It is also meant to promote healthy nail regrowth. Seeing as the days for flip flops and sandals are slightly visible on the horizon I might give this a whirl on my toes for a couple of weeks and see what happens. Plus I would expect that your nails have to be bare to use this so I'm not going without nail polish on my fingers for that duration!

The final item in the box is the Bee Good Youth enhancing Plump & Firm Moisturiser.

Ah yes I could do with a bit of help in the youth enhancing department. This claims to "plump, smooth and soften your complexion, leaving it dewy and glowing with luminosity". I do have a few moisturisers to try out at the moment but I will try this out over the next while.

Overall I'm more impressed with this month's offering than last month's. The lipstick shade is pot luck - I see others received a lovely pretty pink - but that can't be helped. I'm least "excited" by the nail gel - purely because I hate anything to do with feet and that's where I think I would use this.

So, that's everything in this month's box. If you are a subscriber too let me know your thoughts on this month's box in the comments below :)

Bye for now,
C xxx
