March 2016 Favourites

Hello there, hope you’re all well? I haven’t done much shopping at all so far this month – I’m saving the pennies for the Irish Beauty Show next week and also for Little Man’s 2nd birthday which happens at the end of this month! Instead I’ve been digging through my stash of products for the most part but I did do a tiny bit of shopping on as well with a gift card I had saved to treat myself with.

Blank Canvas F20 Foundation Brush in hot pink

I picked up the 2 pack of these on cloud10beauty as I had a 15% off discount code for the site also at the time of their “leap year” offer. Before discount, the set of 2 (of same brushes) cost €26.99.
I was badly in need of a new foundation brush and I thought it would be no harm to have two so that if one was being cleaned I still had a back-up. That’s my excuse anyway..
Blank Canvas advise that you should use this brush in a stippling motion and not to sweep it on the skin. And I have to say that this technique really works. It gives a much more flawless finish than either the beauty blender or Real Techniques brush that I had been using and it makes application surprisingly quick. And I need all the extra time I can get in the mornings! Find it here:

Revlon Colourstay Foundation

I recently ran out of my Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation and due to my attempts to stay on a budget of sorts, I haven’t repurchased this yet. Instead I picked up Revlon’s Colourstay Foundation in the shade 110 Ivory which is said to have similar staying powder and coverage as Double Wear but at less than half the price!I might have gotten a shade too pale but once it’s blended in and blusher/bronzer added, I think I get away with it. And while it is not my new bff as the Estee Lauder one is, it is coming a close second with good coverage and decent enough staying power. Find it here where it is half price at the moment!

Rituals Happy Buddha Foaming Shower Gel

An old favourite of mine is the bath and body brand Rituals. I first discovered this brand in an airport duty-free a couple of years ago and now I am obsessed with their products. The brand promises “a luxurious collection of high quality products to enrich body and soul”. The range includes products for face and body, scented candles, diffusers, make up and also fragrances.  I am on my third bottle now of their Happy Buddha Foaming Shower Gel which is a gorgeous orange and cedar scent, but not overpoweringly sickly or fruity. It is the perfect morning shower scent to give you a boost and also as it is a gel that transforms into a foam and a little goes a long way! It is also another time-saver as you can also use it as a shaving foam while you’re in the shower or bath. As you know by now, I'm big on time-saving! Find it here:

Vichy Idealia Skin Sleep cream

Onto skincare now, and as a Mum, I’m constantly on the hunt for products that will hide the dark circles and make me look more awake even after Little Man’s had a rough night. Poor mite has had a throat and ear infection recently so needless to say he’s been pretty restless some nights.. So I’ve been reaching for the coffee and this night-time cream which I picked up on online at back in January.  The cream claims to help mimic the results of a good night’s sleep on the skin and overtime I should see “fresher, more healthy-looking skin”. It is a nice, light gel-cream texture, which has a lovely fragrance and absorbs easily into my skin. I will have to give it a longer term test but I do think my skin looks brighter in the mornings and it definitely feels smoother. Vichy is sold in most pharmacies and also on

Sleek blusher in the shade “Pixie Pink”.

I’m a big fan already of Sleek Make up already, especially their contour and highlighting palettes, but this is the first blusher I’ve purchased from the range. (Actually I picked up two online but I haven’t tried the other shade yet!)To be fair, this looks a lot more vivid in the pan than it does on the skin. It is a matte blusher in a lovely bright pink, which when on the skin, and not applied too generously, gives a lovely bit of colour to my otherwise milk bottle-coloured face. I have been reaching for this every day since it arrived in my cloud10beauty order. You can find Sleek in many pharmacies as well as online including at where delivery is free if you spend over €15!

Well, that's everything I've been trying out and enjoying this month. If you have tried any of these products do let me know your thoughts :)

Bye for now,
C x
