Favourite Eyeshadow Palettes

Hello all,

Today I thought I would share with you some of my favourite eyeshadow palettes. I very rarely purchase single eyeshadows as I think you get so much more value for your money with a palette – plus the hard work of matching colours together has already been done for you!
These palettes are the ones I reach for most often in my make-up collection and ones I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for “starter kits” in shades that would suit most eye colours/skin tones. You will notice that most of these have similar shades in them in the brown/neutral tones and I think these shades are most adaptable as you can create a subtle look for the office or else add more colour and drama for a night-time smoky eye.

Stila Eyes Are The Window Shadow Palette - Soul.

This is the most recent addition to my collection after I saw it on another blogger’s make up routine Youtube Video. First of all, the case itself is a gorgeous rose gold outside with a decent sized mirror inside. And who doesn’t love a bit of shiny rose gold eh! The eyeshadows themselves are a mixture of matte and shimmer shades, from pale cream to dark brown. The palette did come with a little booklet on how to create different looks with it but of course Little Man got hold of this and now it is nowhere to be seen!  The shadows themselves are quite pigmented and you can easily create both a subtle neutral eye or a smoky eye look by mixing the colours. I purchased mine online from Beauty Bay.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette.

This one is an oldie but a goodie. I don’t own any of the other Urban Decay Naked palettes (yet!) but I think this one has some of the popular shades and is definitely a good starter kit. The palest shade, “Venus”, is great for highlighting under the brow bone and the inner corners of the eyes as it’s not too shimmery. The very darkest shade, “Crave” also doubles up as an eyeliner too.  Urban Decay are available in most major department stores.

Pippa Palette for Blank Canvas Cosmetics.

This palette was designed by Pippa O’Connor in collaboration with Blank Canvas Cosmetics and includes 6 eyeshadows, a highlighter, blusher and bronzer. Each shade has a name which has personal meaning to Pippa which is a nice touch. The shadows are not so pigmented so you have to build them up a bit, but I do like the highlighter (called “Lulu” and the shades  “Lily” and “Tobi” in particular. It is handy for travelling too as you have a mini contouring kit included also! I purchased mine online from cloud10beauty.

Sleek i-Divine eyeshadow palette in “Oh So Special”.

Oh I love the pinky shimmery shades in this palette. This contains a mixture of matte and shimmery shades and the pigmentation is really good considering its low price point. I have four eyeshadow palettes from this range altogether (yes I know I have a problem!) but this is the one I reach for most often. Again you can mix and blend the colours to create quite a subtle or a very smoky look. Sleek are available in most larger pharmacies and Boots stores but also online on cloud10beauty, and Boots online to name a few. Keep an eye out for special offers!
So, that’s a roundup of my favourite eyeshadow palettes  Let me know your go-to palettes in the comments below – would love to find some new ones to try out – all in the name of research for you guys of course!
Bye for now,
C xx
