My morning make up routine

Hi all, hope you're doing well x Today I thought I would do a quick post on what I use and how long I spend on my make up in the mornings. Weekday mornings are usually a mad dash from room to room, getting Baba's bottle ready, changing him for the day, packing my bag, getting myself dressed and somewhere in between I grab ten minutes to do my make up - typically when he is sitting in his cot having his morning bottle or playing with his toys or his books.Usually, my ten minute face routine consists of the following:

First comes my Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in the shade True Ivory under the eyes and to cover any blemishes - this is a must under the eyes for any sleep deprived Mum!
Then comes my Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in the shade Ivory Nude, applied using a Real Techniques buffing brush.

Brows are filled in and darkened using Rimmel's eyebrow pencil in the shade Dark Brown. I then apply a nude/beige eyeshadow all over the lid and a taupey coloured shadow in the crease - colours Venus and Naked2 from the Urban Decay basics palette. I use the Real Techniques Base Shadow Brush and Deluxe Crease Brush to apply these and blend them in well.

I then apply black liquid eyeliner to the top lash line - currently I'm using Rimmel's Scandaleyes Precision Micro Eyeliner. This is quite a fine felt tip which I like as I'm hopeless at maintaing a steady hand with the liners that have a brush type applicator. The felt tips are much easier and quicker to draw on.

I apply mascara to top and bottom lashes - currently I'm using a sample which came from a past Glossybox - Clinique High Impact Mascara in black. I actually was really impressed with this mascara and I'm considering repurchasing a full size when I finish this one - it doesn't clump or flake and two coats gives enough volume and definition for daytime for me.
I use a small amount of black kohl eyeliner on lower lash line and at the moment my liner is a Lacura pencil bought from Aldi a while back. That's the eyes done then!

Then using the Sleek Face Form kit in the shade light, I apply the blusher on the cheeks and the bronzer as contour under the cheekbones using an angled brush that I picked up in TK Maxx. I don't generally use the highlighter for work as I would then probably glow in the dark and there is a bit of shimmer in the blush anyway.

Then it's a quick dust of Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Transparent on the tzone and over the blush/bronzer if I need to tone it down or blend it in more. This goes on using another brush I picked up in TK Maxx - granted I was drawn to the sparkliness of it and not the brush itself but it actually does the job fine.

Lipstick goes in the bag to apply later when I get to work. Usually my lipstick of choice is one of the following (L to R in pic below): NYX Summer Love, NYX Power, Rimmel Airy Fairy or Rimmel Kate 03. I also use Lipcote lipstick sealer over the top to help the lipstick stay on a bit longer. If I'm not in the mood for lipstick then I'll use a quick coat of Sleek Gloss Me lip gloss in the shade Angel Falls.

And that's it, face done and usually then it's onto getting the little man ready for his day and the race to get us both out the door on time :)
